Yesterday, I wrote about the British taking offense at a Tintin comic book.
As reported in the Telegraph and The Blaze, the British are also offended by this advertisement:
The British are concerned that the advertisement “sexualises” a child. Dakota Fanning, the actress/model in the photo, was seventeen years old at the time. She may still be seventeen, or maybe eighteen now. In any case, Britain’s age of consent is sixteen. The British are becoming increasingly prudish, as if they were not prudes already.

I read quite a few books on the history of London, as well some historical fiction set in London. I was surprised by the amount of debauchery, as I always thought the English were refined and sophisticated. I agree with Macaulay.
